well today i was browsing the coroflot design job site.. not really sure why.. maybe for andrea? ha.. i guess its nice to dream sometimes.. maybe one day a reality..
i came across a job posting for the muse agency.. their little description of their team and type of work they do sounded exciting so i went to the site to take a peek and.. WOW ..
i really mean it.. i think i may have posted about the jillz campaign by Heineken .. well if not.. it is a beer.. well cider really that is marketed towards women.. i think it is a wonderful idea.. and correct me if i am wrong.. if it is a cider it should be gluten free as well! haha.. bonus! well go to the jillz site.. it is wonderfully entertaining.. promise
well anyho.. this is one of their many great projects.. go take a peek for yourself!
ps- i just remembered that springwise did a feature on charli. the brew for women by Heineken .. i went found it and clicked on the charli site.. and it went to jillz.... anyone know why the name change??

do an ebay search for egg... its amazing

i was scrolling on core77 and then found this little video that they had posted up.. i usually dont check out videos b/c my computer 'laggs/studders' when they play ... so annoying.. anyway i watched magnetic movie done by semiconductorfilms which basically illustrates the magnetic fields around us... sounds a little funny but check out their site.. read a little and then watch it.. it really is amaizng.. (A Semiconductor film by Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt shot at the NASA Space Sciences Laboratory, UC Berkeley, California, USA.).. how official does that sound.. just go and enjoy the video

The Royal Mint recently decided it was time to update their currency via a wonderful competition which Matthew Dent won for his fun jigsaw like design of the coins.. sort of makes them interactive in a way...
congrats UK!

where to strt here.. i was just passing by one of the more interesting sites.. pingmag .. the tokyo based magazine about design and making things... sounds wonderful right?? they just recently did a feature about the able art company .. a group that promotes artists with disabilities and helps them connect with some big name (and also smaller) design/advert agencies to get their illustrations on products and such.. just amazing! I have been running the art and design group at the hospital here and it is going very very well.. i also just started recipe rehab.. beautiful group where i get my clients to write out their recipe and a little about themselves.. stay tuned for the cookbook! ha
take care everyone
ps- the illustrations above are from one of the artists.. just love the style of illustration!

rubiks add from nz

during my little scoot around i was visiting holly's site (decor8) and came across this fun chair.. i would love to see something like this taken a little more extreme.. maybe 20ft high or something?? or not. ha

so you know how i do things.. usually little dabbles of this and that.. and then everyonce and a while you get an interesting mouthfun on someone.. so today that someone is..
Giulio Iacchetti
before i get going i want to first say thankyou to designboom for some of the photos and info!
so.. giulio (ps.. sadly i have never had a friend named giulio.. seems like a fun name to say!) is an talented individual from italy who has done amazing work in many fields.. what recently resparked my interest was his flexible bench.. remember when andrea was doing the project with scad and the union mission (place for homless individuals).. at the time i talked about getting the city of savannah involved (sort of community development) but that was not really what they were after.. so.. if you were to come to a city with a simple little proposal where you and the 'transition' (better and more open than homeless) individuals build these products using sustainable materials (found/recycled) and the city would buy them or pay you.. etc... so.. city gets functional seating/shelter.. the transitioning individuals get skills (for future employment), knowledge and most importantly empowerment! so.. here is his bench.. i am not saying this is perfect but i do like to concept of it..

flexible bench
you may also reccognize these.. fun little serving/plating tools.. you can make fun things on a plate with these.. we used them at the resturant before.. my only prob was the colour.. but i guess it lets the food provide the colour...

and the guy has a great signature.. i recently was told at the hospital that i had to 'clean up' my signature.. it may be a long cleaning process.. ha.
why not right?

its funny.. you can totally follow my little path around the internet on here.. this little find is from designboom... ‘casa kike’ by architect gianni botsford has won so sooo many huge awards.. and i like the book case.. haha.. just a beautiful environment!! plus its in costa rica.. not bad right?
and photo cred goes to................ christian richters

arne quinze is at it again... remember the little post i did a while back when looking at the party photos? .. the demolition party.. and i thought i spotted some of arne's work in there.. well yup.. i did!! dezeen did a little feature on the five-star Paris hotel Le Royal Monceau on Avenue Hoche that is being closed for a year for upgrades.. so before the big shut down they hosted a demolition party.. funfun. arne has a lot of controversy around his work.. but from what i have read/found he reuses materials and does his best to limit waste.. thank goodness!! if this was all new wood.. painted and then tossed away.. i dont think arne and i could be friends any more! haha

the halifax farmers market is amazing . (period)

in a historical and facinating maze like building that used to be (and still is?) the alexander keiths brewlery (local beer.. sorry.. religion). it is a hustle and busstle experience that has amazing (and i really do mean amazing.. not hot dog type) foods (both local & more exotic) as well as an overwhelming amount (in a very good way) of local produce.. local delis/bakeries/ crafters/ artists/entertainers... and all of their friends & family... plus most other people who happen to be in the city.. i would love to have a figure of roughly how many people glide through there on a sat. morn (THE ONLY TIME IT IS OPEN).. big bang.. its fun.

ok... so this gets us to... the plan for the 'new' market .. the seaport market .. i am happy that lydon and lynch (hey andy!) got the job.. i think they are definitally capable to make an impact..

my only problem with it is that why fix what is not broke? i love the tradition of the sat morn only market.. and i think a ot of pther people do as well.. thye plan on being open all the time and letting people rent out tables as they want.. daily.. seasons.. etc.. sounds alright.. i would like to more about it i guess.. just would hate to see it die out.. but i think that really is impossible.

which gets us up to....
the 'savannah farmers market'.. have gone to the past 2 (and i think possibly the first 2?).. they are just getting on thier feet.. seems to be more like a job fair and less like a farmers market.. more produce/products/food... sell first.. promote 2nd..
thanks for the photo sara

thats the space above.. HUGE plans..

while recently browsing a wallpaper magazine from a while back i came across a TRETORN add which.... as usual from them.. caught my eye... beautiful photo with some fun as usual...
i took the time to go check out their site and then remembered that they recently opened a new store in .. yup.. sohoe .. yes.. hoe .. congrats! i have been to the one in DC and it was great.. fun clothing.. great campaings.. and wonderful design (on all levels.. fashion.interior.brand)
above we have the nylite (white) and skymra (yellow).. $50 and $70 respectively.. i know my friend dan wants a pair!
