so you know how i do things.. usually little dabbles of this and that.. and then everyonce and a while you get an interesting mouthfun on someone.. so today that someone is..
Giulio Iacchetti
before i get going i want to first say thankyou to designboom for some of the photos and info!
so.. giulio (ps.. sadly i have never had a friend named giulio.. seems like a fun name to say!) is an talented individual from italy who has done amazing work in many fields.. what recently resparked my interest was his flexible bench.. remember when andrea was doing the project with scad and the union mission (place for homless individuals).. at the time i talked about getting the city of savannah involved (sort of community development) but that was not really what they were after.. so.. if you were to come to a city with a simple little proposal where you and the 'transition' (better and more open than homeless) individuals build these products using sustainable materials (found/recycled) and the city would buy them or pay you.. etc... so.. city gets functional seating/shelter.. the transitioning individuals get skills (for future employment), knowledge and most importantly empowerment! so.. here is his bench.. i am not saying this is perfect but i do like to concept of it..

flexible bench
you may also reccognize these.. fun little serving/plating tools.. you can make fun things on a plate with these.. we used them at the resturant before.. my only prob was the colour.. but i guess it lets the food provide the colour...

and the guy has a great signature.. i recently was told at the hospital that i had to 'clean up' my signature.. it may be a long cleaning process.. ha.
why not right?
