the clinic... a resturant in singapore.. dont really like the idea of hospital food.. even if it is the best hospital food you can get

Kyung-Eun Oh
fun idea!

i like this layout.. very similar to ours .. well.. what our will be as soon as we get in!

love the effect.... somthing along these lines for a large hanging light source over our work table?

yup... from ikea... but for $850... not bad...

nice sofa... but $2000 may be a little out of our budget

Pastizzeria
pastizzi (cheese cakes & pea cakes)
qassatat(which are made of light pastry filled with rikotta, peas, spinach and anchovy, etc…)
pizza slices, sausage-rolls, timpana, baked rice and much much more.
that is the basic pastizzeria... plus a coke machine on the wall

great story about place right where i would eat... by the hospital that i worked at.. Muscat's Pastizzeria
on my last day of work the people at the hospital bought me a huge basket of them.. a real feast!
there of so many of thoes places around and they all are open and have all been open forever.. definitally a perfect low cost place to start and maintain with very low costs.. fun and super enjoyable.. have only one or two products and make them perfect and with ease..

i want a photo of a Pastizzeria store from so badly! actually.. i want photos of everything.. inside and out.. how it works.. where they get there stuff.. temps... everything!! maybe a Pastizzeria internship for me coming up???
if anyone can help me with anything from the photo to the insternship.. please! love the maltease culture and way of life.. miss it actually
there are so many beautiful photos of malta.. i have been looking online for about an hour now.. it really took me back there and how great it all was... i will maybe have to visit back one day!

well.. i have been on a little writing streak.. so why not keep going.. i am a little bored so this is more for me to just not write in my book and just do it here.. sorry.. you can just skip on if you wish.. but look out below!!! there is another little 'doozy' waiting for you there.. you need a triple jump here (hop..........skip.....jump..........................................)
where my kitchen experience started
yes.. obviously.. at home.. mother.. grandmother.. family.. and yes.. i did help out in the kitchen growing up.. but i am talking about the first time you are out on your own and on a budget.. a BUDGET!.. and your little kitchen and lack of tools..
so i was in malta and had basically what amounted to $3-5 per day with the occational treat dinner that would be about $5 itself! wow!
breakfast = cerial (with milk help from some of my kind german roomates) or toast with jam or nutella) and a little glass of cheap juice (more suggar than anything) with the occational sip of some yogurt friut drink again.. thank you german friends!
then a snack/lunch of free bread and this super cheap but free at work so i never bought it sweet tomato paste with some fresh pepper
lunch/afternoon would be enjoyed when i ended my day of work around 12-2 .. day start = wake at 7:45 shower eat (above) and then out door for bus at 8:10.. bus was funny walk up hill and at work
by 8:30.. i dont think i was late once
so.. back to lunch..
toast.. mustard.. salami (nice salami though.. yes it was the CHEAPEST at the deli supermarket.. and no it was nothing special.. but yes.. it was so much better than any salami you get here at publix or something) and a cheese slice! haha.. i cannot believe i was eating them.. but at that point of time in my pocket.. it really made a difference)
or i would eat some leftover dinner.. but there usually was not.. one meal at a time.. fresh.. no waste.. enjoyable experience.. more satisfying.. accomplishment.. i would go to the grocery store each day after i would return from the beach/pool around 4:30 or 5... dinner around 6 or 6:30... then gym .. yes i was going to the gym.. only time in my life.. it was nice.. wake.. work.. sun.. eat.. gym.. call andrea.. nitenite.. it was reall nice.. and the weather was great.. )
dinner was very basic.. pasta (usually penne).. onion.. garlic.. olive oil.. salt pepper.. as pasta is done into onions and garlic.. then add diced fresh tomatoes and parsley (free!! from the veg cart.. where all my stuff came from) life was real simple.. and the food was good.
there was a guy named daniel (german med student.. nice guy older..) we was a good cook and let me eat with him and his wife/gf and i hepled him and cooked for him and hiswife/gf as well..
so i got in the habit of cleaning while i made dinner becuase the tools were so limited and there was no room.. plus there was someone usually close behind wanting to use the same.. it was just being polite.. but i liked it.. the rule was no dinner before everything was clean and away.. super old crap gas range.. but it worked! and it was so much better than electric!
the pastitzi (phylo pastry with riccota cheese or crushed peas) sold all over the city as well as wonderufl litte fresh cheese pizzas an other pastries.. they were basically in little caves.. only one guy.. little TINY store from.. and the coke machine right there.. so great.. maybe try to do one day in savannah.. maybe with bagles? stop for basic bagel treats and also pick up dozen.. !!NOTE!!..
also great little gellato places.. same TINY store front. love that concept! some have like on or 2 chairs.. a bistro table at most.. very trasptortable/ easy to eat in hands.. no real mess.. easy! simple! enjoyable! cheap! CHEAP! i mean think about the budget i have described and i am eating a couple of these little treats a day! i think each pastitzi (i must look up spelling!.. i have already made them.. and know recipe) love the little store front .. so perfect for a little nook somewhere in downtown savannah.. it really is what the people there like and want.. nothing fancy.. no fuss.. not a mess! but casual.. mix the med and the south.. atypical med cuisine typical southery hospitality.. friendly! polite..
good concept here..
wow.. that was probably the longest single typing session i have ever had.. haha.. i did not like papers but this was enjoyable.. well.. at least for me.. i personally know that if i saw a body of text like this there is absolutly no way in the world i would read it all.. yikes!
i know that when i go to a blog i am usually much more interested in the images than i am the commentary.. unless it is someone special/interesting to me (for some reason i would guess i am not that 'special' to you.. yet! haha..) so i am going to post more photos and have links to sources that make my little comments..

andrea and i were in the 'new' (ohhh ahhhh.. false emcitment noices) ikea a couple of weeks ago on our way from savannah to miami we decided to stop by.. it was so far from the 95 and the traffic was just sitting.. no fun.. long drive.. now longer drive....
so we get there and as expeccted just the same as any other ikea you go to.. hactic! dont get me wrong.. i do like the idea of the ikea product but to only a certain extent.. for some things it is great when you get a good find.. but even better is when you get a great buy at a thrift shop or yard sale...
lucky for us we knew basically what we wanted to look at (sofa (kramybackisuncomfortablefors and others) as well as a few tables)..
wow.. talk about more photos and less talk.. haha
so in the ikea there was a large.. not overweight but large (6ft4.. 290.. 55yrs) who was walking slowly past each showroom modeal.. he would read the stats (always price first... then sq. ft... and then go on to describe how you would live there.. 'now here you would sit on your sofa and watch some tv'(in my head "yes.. correct.. there is a sofa and tv in that tiny room and yes.. they seem to be facing each other..") then he would get up from the tiny sofa with a grunt and then somber through the tiny passage to the bedroom that he filled.. and then look at his 23year old trashy daughter and his overdressed plus trash wife and say 'now this looks like something i would want to do if i was one of thoes design people on the tv..'.. then he aqwardly lowered hisself to the bed and pretended to go to sleep for about 3 se onds and then get up with a huge fake snore
anyway.. thoes are the kind of people you can expect to find at your new ikea!! ikea.com
